Jaylan Pope

Attorney

Jaylan's path to family law started well before law school. A Charleston, South Carolina native, he enlisted in the United States Air Force at just 17 years old, spending nearly a decade traveling and working alongside people from all different backgrounds. That experience built a strong foundation of discipline and preparation—qualities that still shape how Jaylan approaches the practice of law today.

Jaylan's decision to pursue family law is deeply personal. Long before he became an attorney, he navigated child custody and other family law matters himself, experiencing firsthand what it means to sit on the other side of the attorney-client relationship during a stressful and uncertain time. That experience became one of the driving forces behind his decision to attend law school—he wanted to become the kind of attorney he would have wanted in his corner.

Jaylan's legal career began as an Assistant District Attorney, where he gained valuable courtroom experience and sharpened his skills as an advocate. Family law ultimately felt like a natural fit, allowing him to bring that trial experience into an area of law where he also brings a personal understanding of what his clients are going through.

Jaylan approaches every client with empathy, understanding that walking through the firm's doors often means facing one of the most stressful and vulnerable periods of a person's life. He wants clients to know they have someone who will listen, understand what matters most to them, and make sure their voice is heard. At the same time, Jaylan is a fighter for his clients—having been in their position himself, he knows what's at stake, and he's prepared to advocate for their rights and be their voice when it matters most.

Outside the office, Jaylan shares life with his wife, their three kids, and their rescue dog, Trixie. When he's not practicing law, you can usually find him weightlifting at the gym, trying out new restaurants around Charlotte, catching a game, or heading to a concert or comedy show.
